Ed Greenawald: Acoustic guitars, vocals. Ed's love for the blues began at an early age, he heard Muddy Waters shouting out I'm A Hoochie Coochie Man at the age of 11 and never looked back. While other kids were learning to play Smoke on the Water, Ed was busy discovering Howling Wolf, B. B. King and John Lee Hooker. Ed has always preferred the sounds of an acoustic guitar, and has become somewhat of a "tone freak" over the years, tweaking his sound and updating his gear constantly in search of that "perfect" acoustic tone. Yeah, good luck with that one Ed.
Mack "Night-Train" Vaksman: Harmonicas, vocals. Unbelievably, Mack actually was born in the back seat of a Greyhound Bus, rollin' down Highway 41. His introduction to the blues occurred as a young boy when he first heard Robert Plant's harmonica solo on Led Zeppelin's cover of You Shook Me, inspiring the young Night-Train Vaksman to follow in the footsteps of so many great bluesmen before him. Mack feels that the harmonica is truly the instrument that most embodies the spirit of the blues, and he relishes any opportunity to play for those who have never really heard what a blues harp should sound like.
The Beginning: Mack and Ed first got together in 2009 at an ongoing open mike night at a specialty beer store called Barley's and Hops in the South Park shopping center. They hit it off immediately. They found that they both knew all the same tunes, and each had a deep love for the blues that fueled a solid friendship and musical journey that continues every time they step onto a stage to play. The blues just brings out the best in some people, It can be therapeutic in many ways. The ability to release your emotions into the music is a powerful force that keeps this band together and enjoying every minute that they play. It's contagious, catch it if you can.
